The legend of the headless horseman has inspired many a child to pull his t-shirt over his head and pretend to have no head. The headless warrior has been around since the late 18th century. While the character itself has been pretty popular and has had plenty of works based around it, a movie released in 2007 flopped at the box office.

The character first appeared in the book “The Legend of the Sleepy Hollow”. Starting as a soldier, he has his head blown off, turning him into the Headless Horseman as we know him. He turns into a ghost scaring travelers at night.

People, it seems, love the Headless Horseman. It is one of the more popular costumes around in fancy dress parties and the like. If you fancy a look without your head, or are just plain embarrassed about what’s above your neck, you can buy one of these immediately!

Without going into chemical details, we will just note reverse osmosis as a filtration process used mainly for water. It is considered to be the safest water purification process. Yet, there are some hidden dangers to the reverse osmosis process.

First, in an attempt to leech out pollutants from the water, naturally occurring essential minerals are often leeched out as well. This is an unavoidable phenomenon, causing water to become too pure. In the absence of these minerals, which are chemically basic, water attains a slightly acidic nature (pH below 7). This causes the body to charitably offer minerals from its bones, weakening them over a long term. Further, consuming such water over a long term can cause diseases as deadly as cancer.

Further, substances which are smaller than water molecules themselves, as many herbicides are, are not removed. This means that reverse osmosis should not be used as the only purification method.

Not to mention the amount of water the process wastes! Performing reverse osmosis on a large scale is not the greenest way to purify water. Start drinking smart, and use methods other than reverse osmosis to purify your water. Combining it with UltraViolet radiation or distillation is recommended.

Most toys are intended to educate children while they play.

Their website lists hundreds of reviews from satisfied customers. Quality is assured since it is a BBB Accredited Business with a rating of A (scale of A+ to F).

TopTenReviews.com features a comprehensive review of the store and rates it highly. They describe it as having “top-notch products, service, and shopping experience.”

The Skinomi TechSkin is an amazing cover for the Apple iPhone 4. It’s nearly invisible, which means you won’t be spoiling the look of your beautiful phone. And it does a good job of keeping your fingers away from the antenna, allowing you to make calls no matter how you hold the phone.

There’s only one negative point about International Cricket 2010 by Codemasters: it doesn’t have the license to use original cricketer names. That’s a pity, because it far outperforms any other cricket game so far.

Sports games, as a rule, have an evolutionary model of development. This means that you don’t see much difference in games from one year to the next. Codemasters, however, manages to come up with a cricket game that is absolutely thrilling. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is immersive and the overall product is almost perfect.

Another negative is the lack of comprehensive commentary. This is the downfall of countless sports games. Even though the game comes on a Blu-Ray disc, which surely has plenty of free space for more commentary, the commentators run out of words after the first few games.

But that is a minor glitch, not enough to spoil the gaming experience. Cricket fans should order a copy of this game immediately!

I first ran into ThreatFire a few years ago while looking for free anti-virus softwares. I didn’t have money for paid software, and didn’t trust/like, cracked products.

Surprisingly, I found users posting rave reviews about ThreatFire on product neutral forums. Some rated it even higher than paid solutions. Running it for the first time on my PC promptly resulted in elimination of hundreds of corrupt files.

I’d recommend this to you if you are looking for a good anti-virus.

It’s official, Microsoft is killing Kin. Now, keeping pun-ny jokes apart, the kind that have plagued the comment section of all major blogs, it’s a sad thing indeed that such a humble phone had to die such an early death. Sure, it is no competition to phones like Droid, iPhone, etc. But then, not everyone needs a smartphone. Sometimes, all you need is a phone that looks cool. Microsoft Kin is, or rather was, that phone.

With the official announcement already having been made, expect the Kin One and Kin Two to fly off shelves quicker. Sure, the tech blogs have had no qualms about pulling punches on the Kin phones, but the fact is that both phones look pretty unique. Maybe not uber cool, but unique for sure.

Now is the best time to go out and GET A KIN ONE or KIN TWO phone for yourself. Verizon is offering both at a cent each, under contract of course.

That’s right, it’s the Nokia N900. The price of the Nokia N900 has just dropped to $399! So now you can have a phone that can dual boot multiple operating systems, as well a flavor of Ubuntu, the desktop operating system. Then there’s the huge Nokia N900 community that is always working to bring more mods to the already powerful phone.

The N900 gives you the best bang for your buck. Not convinced? Think about the upcoming MeeGo OS that you can install on it and run programs meant for PCs! This phone is especially useful for the corporate executive who wants to get work done on the go. Or for geeks who want to play around with it.

Toshiba has just announced a prototype device: Toshiba Libretto W100 dual screen netbook. It is a cross between a tablet PC and a netbook. It lacks a physical keyboard like a tablet but makes up for it with two touch screens.

Both touch screens can be used independently of each other, allowing you to run two different applications on both screens. When circumstances demand, you can also convert the lower screen into a touch keyboard, with a choice between 6 different layouts.

Toshiba Libretto W100

The screens, 7 inches wide each, have a capacitive touch layer, with the lower screen having good tactile feedback.

Toshiba wants to test the waters with the Libretto W100. The concept dual screen netbook, which will hit the markets in August, is priced a little north of $1000. From the looks of it, it might just as well become the form factor of nearly all future netbooks and will likely give tablets a run for their money.
